2SM: Were you a fan of TWD before you were cast as Dianne?
Kerry: I had watched the show some and liked it but I didn't watch it regularly.
2SM: One of the things that stands out to us about you personally is your dedicated work with AMVETS and the fact that you have been named as the organization’s official spokesperson. [Editor’s Note: AMVETS is one of America’s leading veterans service organizations with more than 250,000 members. AMVETS assists veterans and sponsors numerous programs that serve our country and its citizens. Membership in AMVETS is open to anyone who honorably served, (or is currently serving) in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves.]
Tell us more about what AMVETS is and what led you to become such a vocal advocate for this organization.
Kerry: AMVETS is a national organization that is member driven and has posts all over the country. One of the thing’s that I love about this organization is that they are service based, which means I'm not just helping veterans, I'm helping veterans continue to serve, which is extremely rewarding. AMVETS is also open to all veterans. No matter what war, military action, or era; if you are a veteran you can join. Having veterans from across the spectrum that are united for veterans causes is something that is an honor to be a part of. 2SM: Is there a celebrity or musician out there that you would love to meet or have absolutely gone"fangirl" over when you met them?
Kerry: I'm a sucker for great writers in all forms. Bill Watterson who wrote the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip is someone I would love to meet. I grew up with those comic strips. I still read them today and I have a complete set. Ursula LeGuin is on my list too. She was one of my dad's favorite authors and I am reading her now.
A Glimpse into “The Kingdom’s” Dianne
2 Single Mom's Interview with Kerry Cahill
2SM: Tell us the story on how you landed your role on “The Walking Dead”. Did you know what you were auditioning for?
Kerry: I did know what I was auditioning for. I had auditioned a few times before and I remember telling my agent (when we talked about my audition) "It'll be this time." When my agent called it was funny cause I didn't get the part I auditioned for. I got Dianne :) I'm really happy I landed in The Kingdom! Who wouldn't want to be in the society that has a pet tiger?

2SM: Are you a fan of the TV series Supernatural? (If so, who is your favorite character?)
Kerry: Yes. Death.
If you are current on season 7 of The Walking Dead, you have already met “Dianne” (played by Kerry Cahill) from the Kingdom. She is one of the more prominent fighters from the community and can be seen sporting her signature long bow. Kerry Cahill gives 2 Single Moms a glimpse at what we can expect from her character on “The Walking Dead” as well as one of her biggest personal passions.
2SM: Please tell us all (that you can!) about your character Dianne from the Kingdom. We notice that she carries a longbow....is she the Kingdom's variation of Daryl Dixon? Can we expect to get attached to Dianne?
Kerry: I hope fans stay attached to Dianne, she has some great stuff coming up and although I wouldn't say she is the Kingdom's version of Daryl Dixon, I would say she's the kind of woman people don't mess with. At least not twice anyway. The longbow attracts a different kind of personality than the crossbow. In a world like this where weapons often define people I am really happy she is an archer.
2 Single Moms finds Kerry’s choice of “Death” as her favorite character from the TV series “Supernatural” to be an interesting choice. Death is ominous… a force that is not to be challenged. It sounds as though “Death” and “Dianne” have a lot in common!
